Compact fluorescent and LED energy efficient lighting has been comprehensively used throughout.
Appliances have been keep to a minimum and chosen for energy efficiency - eg the 4-star fridge:Gas cooking is provided. SmegA Smeg dish washer has been installed but is used infrequently.Kitchen sinks are good quality from Smeg.
A 1kw hr. grid connect solar panel system for renewable energy generation is also located on the north facing roof. (this system is designed to produce up to 7kw per day)

This home was extensively renovated to allow for more efficient air flow throughout the house.
The design changes allowed for more useable areas with in the dwelling. Light was able to penetrate to the middle of the house removing dark areas.

The block of units had the exterior facade completely altered to accommodate a new deck and stair well to provide shade and amenity to the eastern side of the units.
French doors were added to improve cross ventilation.

Octagon Home at Fahey Rd Mt Glorious Qld
This unique octagonal dwelling sits high above the Samford Valley in Sth. Qld.
The design brief included utilizing local stone and recycled Australian hardwood. It broke new ground with the installation of the dry composting toilet which was the first to be approved by any local council in SE Qld.
